An Inspiring E-Book to Set the Stage!

Have read all Patti Callahan's books and they never disappoint as she is a very talented author. This short e-book is a true story written with her sister, Barbi to set the stage for the NY Times bestselling author Patti Callahan Henry's upcoming novel "And Then I Found You" (April 2013). I have pre-ordered the e-Book coming out in April and look forward to reading.
Having lived in the Atlanta area (Midtown, Buckhead, Vinings) for many years, and North Georgia in a log cabin at Big Canoe, always enjoy settings in this area. Incredible how small the world is today with social media -how easy to locate and connect with lost family and loved ones. This is a special story of three sisters, as Barbi (Patti's younger sister) made a courageous choice as a teenager, pregnant and unmarried, offering her daughter up for adoption with a very happy ending. Twenty years later her daughter finds her mother and family thru Facebook and a friend request which created an answer to many prayers. An inspiring story and must read!

What a great idea!

I'm not sure what part of the bold-faced "this e-original short non-fiction story sets the stage for New York Times bestselling author Patti Callahan Henry's upcoming novel And Then I Found You" is unclear to the reviewer who gave this piece 1 star? Clearly some people have trouble reading, which is why the beauty of this "teaser" for Patti Callahan Henry's new full-length novel release would be lost on person. Those who do understand and appreciate words, and especially fans of Henry, will enjoy this little "snack." I, for one, loved having an extra dimension of the story to savor--an "appetizer" to a novel that is fully satisfying. I received an ARC for AND THEN I FOUND YOU, and I found my experience was enhanced buying this short, knowing that the novel was based on a true story, and getting a sense of that story before diving in. If you are looking for a full fiction story, you will not find it in FRIEND REQUEST, but you will find a nice complement to your reading experience of AND THEN I FOUND YOU (a wonderful full story).

Background on the experience that led to And Then I Found You

When I saw that Ms. Henry also wrote this background short non-fiction about her sister's being contacted by the daughter she gave to an adoptive family, I had to read it. I loved And Then I Found You, and this book renewed my emotional empathy with this birth mother and her difficult decision to offer her first born to an adoptive family. To me, this was a very loving thing to do. I applaud Barbie for courage and determination to give her baby a better life than she could offer when her child was born.
