Different but excellent

If you are looking for a chronological history of Thailand you will be disappointed! But if you want to see how Thailand developed in interaction with the world outside of Thailand and how it formed the "culture, institution and "civilization" of Thailand - you will find this book fantastic and very well documented.

Amazing book. This author delves into aspects of Thai history with an analysis that is bold and well-researched. Addresses the controversial aspects of Thai history and culture that gets behind the veneer of Thai culture presented to the public, both foreign and domestic. Best book on Thai history out there, in my opinion.
